[PCST] New CAISE report

 Dear Colleagues,

The Center for Advancement of Informal Science Education (CAISE) has compiled a report on the current state of potential opportunities (in the US) for the STEM research community to leverage informal STEM education (ISE) and public engagement with science (PES) networks, institutions, programs, projects and individuals, as well as ISE/PES strategies, to address their outreach, communication and broader impacts goals. The report includes rationale, and is intended to be a snapshot of the landscape at a point in time when federal and private investments in infrastructure and accountability have resulted in enhanced capacity and expertise among ISE/PES providers to work productively and efficiently with natural, physical and social scientists, their students/post docs and directors of public outreach and education.

CAISE also hopes that it will be a conversation-starter, resource-generator and catalyst for additional input from our fields about areas of overlap, synergy and challenge between the ISE and STEM professions.
